LVM has provided materials technology courses throughout Ontario for over 20 years. Classrooms, library and laboratories containing state-of-the-art testing equipment and training aids are available for the practical presentation of these courses at our Toronto facilities. In addition, LVM is the only private sector ACI Approved Local Sponsoring Group in Canada providing concrete technology courses and examinations in several ACI Certification programs for technicians and construction trades people. The following courses are currently being offered:

Two Day Course, January 23-24, 2012 - $ 850 plus HST
Two Day Course, April 30 to May 1, 2012 - $ 850 plus HST

A review of CSA A23.1 and A23.2 test standards will be provided in preparation for the written and practical ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade 1 examinations. Hands-on field testing of concrete is emphasized. The laboratory and written examinations are taken as part of the course in accordance with the ACI Certification Program. The ACI Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 Workbook and the 8th Canadian Edition (2011) of the Design and Control of Concrete Mixtures are included.

ACI Grade 1 examinations for re-certification will be take place on the second day of the scheduled course dates ($475 plus HST). Workbooks not included.

Rewrite examinations will also be offered on the second day of the scheduled course dates ($275 plus HST). Workbooks not included.

ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 Workbook - $125 plus HST

8th Canadian Edition - Design and Control of Concrete Mixtures - $95 plus HST

Examination sessions for certification in other ACI programs or other areas of construction materials design, inspection and testing technology can also be arranged.

In-house and special courses on pavement design, construction, maintenance and rehabilitation, and concrete and asphalt technology can also be organized.

Additional in-depth training, typically two weeks in the laboratory for Superpave Mix Designs can be arranged for the cost of completing two mix designs ready for project use.
